How much does microcement cost in Ireland? (2026 guide)

Real Irish pricing for supply-only kits and professional application, with the factors that move the number up or down.

Microcement is one of the fastest-growing premium finishes in Ireland — largely because it lets you get a seamless, high-end surface without ripping out what's already there. But how much does it actually cost? Below are real 2026 Irish prices, taken directly from our shop, plus the factors that move the number up or down.

Full professional application

Prefer it hand-applied by specialists? Add labour to the material cost. We quote professional application per project because it depends on the actual surface area, the substrate condition and prep required, the number of coats, and the finish (matt, satin or gloss). Applied work is backed by our 5-year warranty. The most accurate figure comes from a free project quote.

What affects the total cost?

  • Area — priced per m² for applied work, so larger jobs cost more in total but usually less per m².
  • Which system — walls, floors, wet rooms, pools and outdoor terraces use different systems and sealers. See the systems comparison.
  • Substrate prep — sound, well-bonded tiles or plaster need less prep; cracked, damp or uneven substrates need more.
  • Finish and colour — the finish (matt/satin/gloss) and whether you choose a standard shade or a Pure lime-based one.
  • DIY vs professional — DIY saves labour; professional application is faster, warrantied and better suited to floors, wet rooms and gloss finishes.

Is microcement cheaper than tiling?

Often, yes — because there's no demolition, no skip, no re-tiling labour, and the job finishes in days rather than weeks. You're upgrading the surface you already have. If you're weighing options, see our honest microcement vs tiles comparison and the detailed bathroom cost breakdown.
