Microcement Application
Application System
We guarantee that this Microcement don`t crack neither needs joints. But it should be applied by qualified professionals followed all the rules of the manufacturer and working method for using the full range of products that make up this application system.
It can be applied on any non-deformable surface except wood. Surfaces like: tiles, screed, concrete, plasterboard, viroc, OSB, Wedi, MDF, ceramic can be directly coated.
The application system includes several components: Primer, Fiberglass Mesh 50gr, Microcement powder, Royal Resin, Pigment, Sealer, plus all the hand tools and light machinery necessary for the correct application. This is a slow process made in several steps, the final results has between 2 to 3 mm of thickness.
This coating should be applied only when the moisture level is not higher than 5% measured using specific equipment.
The work planning
The Microcement Application is made in several steps, however in the end only has between 2 to 3 mm of thickness.
Proper planning of work is needed, Microcement is a continuous coating and its application will be clean and without causing dust or debris. These application should be performed after completion of other specialties in work, to guarantee the final result.
Preparation of Surfaces to be Coated
The applier first job is protect all surfaces which will not be coated. Next step is the surface cleaner for Primer Application.
Floor
The Microcement is a continuous floor, seamless, because of its versatility, the solutions offered and its application can be considered the future of the flooring. This coating has a wide variety of coating systems according to the needs of your project.
The uniqueness of Microcement Kcberry is that to be able to apply the three construction plans, floors, walls and ceiling, besides the fact that we can use on Interior and Exterior Coating.
Stroked Cement vs Microcement:
STROKED CEMENT
The Stroked Cement isn’t a continuous floor, but a concrete floor with a cement liquid coat which may be added pigments or hardeners. Their finish can be confused because it tries to mimic Microcement. The applications technics and final results are very different.
MICROCEMENT KCBERRY
Microcement Kcberry is a continuous coating with colour and only between 2 to 3 mm of thickness, applied in several coats. The big difference from Microcement over other materials is that it can be applied to almost any surface. Therefore are few materials that allow coat with a thickness so small thus allowing redesign without major inconvenience to the customers in the area of debris, noise or dust.
Application
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface to be coated must be clean and free of grease, the base level and in a good condition.
Mix
Microcement is bicomponent: Powder + Royal Resin, these components should be mixed in the following proportions:
MicroBase – 10Kg Powder with 3 liters of Royal Resin
MicroFinishing –10Kg Powder with 4,5 liters of Royal Resin
MicroTraffic – 10Kg Powder with 4 liters of Royal Resin
MicroNoslip – 10Kg Powder with 2,7 liters of Royal Resin
Yield
MicroBase 2 Coats – 2,0 Kg/m²
MicroFinishing 2 Coats – 0,50 Kg/m²
MicroTraffic 2 Coats – 0,95 Kg/m²
MicroNoslip 2 Coats – 2,0 Kg/m²
The better you are prepared the surface to coat the better the yield obtained and less runtime. For each surface there is a specific method of application.
